Heroes

The city of Charlotte would once again be safe, thanks to Salt!

Sorry, just a quickie this week.

Black asphalt, White light...

Ok, it's a stretch. I was going to do something with a zebra but something came up. On the way back home from the gym today I noticed a squirrel in the middle of the road. As soon as I got near, it bolted into my lane and under my tire. There was a thump and two quick crunches. In the rear-view I saw ol' skippy, lifeless and flat as a pancake. I felt so bad that I had to do something in honor of him. So this is for you Skippy. May heaven be filled with lots of hot girl squirrels and acorns.

Tiny Showcase Print!

Hello Everyone! Check out Tiny Showcase @ 10:00 tonight. A limited edition print of my 'Octopus Bouquet' is going on sale. All proceeds go to the 'Feed the Reese Family Fund'.

Here are the kind comments from Tiny Showcase-

"This evening's print comes to us courtesy of Mr. Brandon Reese. Brandon sent us an email a day or two after I had spotted his work on Illustration Friday, sparing us the trouble of sending him an invite.

When I picked up the proof of Brandon's "Octopus Bouquet," I was really blown away at how much the atmosphere of the artwork seems to change once viewed on paper. The texture of the water, the detail in the Octopus' head, the darker colors are striking. On screen, I was drawn to the flowers. On paper, it almost seems to become an entirely different piece or artwork.

You can check out more of Brandon's illustration work at BrandonReese.com . Tons and tons of nice work and a great blog for those of you who, like myself, enjoy reading about the creative process.

Visit us and view this week's print at http://www.tinyshowcase.com/"

Good day to you!

Just finished this little logo for someone's website. I can't resist drawing a monkey!

I've got to get a faster computer. These textures in illustrator really bog my system down. Maybe I've got a figure out a way to simplify the textures.

Sorry I missed out on 'Summer'. I really wanted to do that one. It sounded like a pleasure after the daunting 'Digital'.

Digital

Jeez, did anyone else have a tough time coming up with something for digital? I must have done 100 sketches until I got to this.

Shadow puppetry takes some digital dexterity.

Printmaking class

I just took a class on printmaking. I love it! And it seems I've only skimmed the surface of what there is to learn. Here's my first print.
